Happy Birthday Grimace - Macdonalds





- a purple monster who was created as a Macdonald's mascot in 1971.
- a trend started which brought grimace back for his birthdays. 

- these social media ads paired with a social media trend popularised the grimace shake where 


- the social media ad shows grimace and a choice of food for his birthday
- uses repetition of the macdonalds logo to clearly show its for macdonalds
- the trend surrounding the ad uses horror/comedy to increase sales and revenue for the brand
- colours link to the character and also the balloons look like the fast food (chicken or chips) 
- secondary person help macdonalds to invite people to join macdonalds to celebrate.
